Full Description

With features like standard 6.2 mph motors, advanced responsiveness, and optional iLevel® power adjustable seat height, the Q6 Edge® 2.0 Power Chair is engineered to meet the performance needs of the most active user. The Q6 Edge 2.0 Power Wheelchair accepts a complete range of seating and electronics options to deliver exceptional rehab capability at an excellent value.

Cognitive Abilities

For safe use, users must understand cause + effect (action = result). Independent use requires directional understanding (i.e. moving control in one direction results in matching chair movement), problem solving (i.e. plan + coordinate movements to get from A to B), and judgment (ability to learn that if something is unsafe they should not do it).

Functional Abilities

Users must have adequate vision and be able to use either a joystick, head/tray array, breath control or a combination control. This chair is best for people with upper limb weakness/pain, poor trunk control, limited endurance, cardiopulmonary disease, and obesity. This chair may be unsafe for those with visual deficits and uncontrolled seizures.

Environment

Mid wheel drive power chairs have the smallest turn circumference of the power chair types and are better suited for indoor use where space is limited. This chair can be used both indoors and outdoors. However, because the centre of rotation is directly under the user, they can be less stable than other power chair types on uneven terrain.

Activities

Given its small turning circumference relative to other power chairs, this chair would be best for indoor activities like shopping, dining in restaurants, visiting art galleries and museums, and going to work or school. If using outside, activities done on flat level surfaces would be best.

Only good for outdoor. Not good indoor because it need a lot of space. Need accessible vehicle to it out. It’s very expensive. It feels too big.

It doesn’t recline, otherwise it’s great.

  22. Anonymous (verified owner)

Expensive to get car adapted. gets stuck in rural areas. much more expensive to maintain than previous chair.
I’m concerned about the decline in performance before I’m eligible for a new chair.
Wasn’t ready for how powerful it was. Injured my leg in early days in a crash.
Not sure if there’s something better?

  23. Anonymous (verified owner)

It gives me my legs. I can do everything I want. Had to learn to drive differently. Had to change environment at home to accomodate this chair. Had to learn new driving skills. Had problems with the front wheel mechanisms, but for the rest it’s ok.

  27. Anonymous (verified owner)

Wheels go out. Foot rests don’t move to the side, battery changed last month and already dead. My old chair, the Invacare TDX SP was better.

  28. Anonymous (verified owner)

It’s been reprogrammed to reduce my tremors with a tremor dampening mechanism.
If I didn’t have it I’d be stuck at home all the time.
I’m really impaired and it works for me.
I have lots of tremors, and with tremor dampening I sometimes have trouble, but it works well most of the time.
I would recommend it because it has tremor dampening capabilities.
