Travel Buggy – City Lite
A short overview how to fold and unfold our City Lite electric wheelchair. This model weighs only 46 lbs (including battery!) and can be easily folded into our most compact option to fit any tight space. Ideal for indoor use and lighter terrains. It provides many of the same features as of our other models, but in a smaller package. We recommend the City Lite to those about 5’8” and less in height, those taller than that may find this folding electric wheelchair a little short.`
Cognitive Abilities
For safe use, users must understand cause + effect (action = result). Independent use requires directional understanding (i.e. moving control in one direction results in matching chair movement), problem solving (i.e. combine + time movements to get from A to B), and judgment (ability to learn that if something is unsafe they should not do it).
Functional Abilities
Users must have adequate vision and be able to use a joystick. This chair is best for people with upper limb weakness/pain, poor trunk control, limited endurance, cardiopulmonary disease, and obesity. This chair may be unsafe for those with visual deficits and uncontrolled seizures.
Environment
This chair is best for use outdoors and in indoor environments where there is plenty of space to turn and maneuver. User must be able to accommodate the length of the wheelchair in front of them (like when pushing a shopping cart). When outdoors, it is recommended users stick to firm, level terrain. It is not intended for use on sand, loose gravel, and hilly/uneven surfaces.
Activities
This chair is best for outdoor activities done on level and predominately flat surfaces (i.e. urban sightseeing, sidewalk commuting etc.). Its also good for indoor activities where there is ample space for maneuvering. Most folding power chairs can accommodate an air-safe travel battery and fold to fit in the trunk of most vehicles making it ideal for all types of travel.
