Full Description
The HomeRx Vascular Compression System is designed to manage the underlying pathophysiology of venous hypertension, a symptom of calf pump failure. It uses a specially designed sequential gradient pneumatic compression pattern and cycle to treat both venous ulcers and edema.
The HomeRx System utilizes a microprocessor-controlled pump to deliver sequential gradient compression via two boots. The boots fill simultaniously for an eleven-second cycle to milk blood up the legs and promote venous return.
This advanced home treatment is easy to use, highly successful, and greatly enhances patient compliance over traditional regimens.
Built-in controls regulate usage to help both ensure safe operation and iliminate risk to the patient.]
Suggested Use: The HomeRx Vascular Compression System is indicated for the treatment of venous insufficiency, including venous ulcers and edema.
For venous ulcers, compression may be applied while sitting or lying down with legs elevated, for one half hour to two hours, once or twice daily, during waking hours. Boots should be removed if the patient experiences numbness, tingling or pain.
Do not use in the presence of flammable anesthetics.
Federal (USA) law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.
Boots may not be recommended for patients with the following conditions:
-Any local leg condition in which boots would interfere with treatment, such as vein ligation (immediate post-operative), recent skin graft or gangrene
-Severe arteriosclerosis or other ischemic vascular disease
-Massive edema of legs or pulmonary edema from congestive heart failure
-Suspected existing deep vein thrombosis
