Full Description

We developed this model with comfort, cost effectiveness, and portability in mind. And we’re quite proud of the result.

The Galaxy Lite guarantees a frame built to last. We have proof to show for it, and offer a Lifetime Warranty standard with this model.

QUICK FLIP ANTI-TIPPERS

A fall prevention system we designed to protect your loved ones from harm. Comes standard with all of our wheelchair models.

LIGHTWEIGHT AND PORTABLE

A Cross frame is the main component of a Folding Wheelchair, onto which the wheels and other components are fitted. This Cross Frame is made up of a main and paired rear triangle. Otherwise known as a diamond frame. Frames manufactured by our firm are strong and stiff, yet light enough to ensure maximum portability. For the Galaxy Lite model we use a single aluminum cross brace.

DUAL SWING-ABLE LEG SUPPORT

Choosing the right leg support is important. That’s why we introduced our Dual Swing-away leg rest. It is designed to be removable to make patient transfers easier. These also help the end user enter and exit the wheelchair with ease.

ADJUSTABLE AXLE PLATE DESIGN

This feature comes standard on the Galaxy Lite. An axle plate ensures the user can have the maximum possible adjustment range of seat-to-floor height. No need to change parts or add unnecessary weight to your Wheelchair.

QUICK RELEASE

This makes changing or removing the wheelchair’s tires much easier. Our Quick Release option can be of value to people who use a wheelchair for transport, or want to reduce the chair’s weight when loading it onto a vehicle.

WHEEL LOCK

Our Wheel Lock system was designed with safety in mind. The lock allows you to keep the wheelchair in ‘park’ mode while moving into, and out of the wheelchair. Wheel lock extensions are available for users who have a limited reach or require more control than our normal wheel lock offers.

PIN RELEASE ARM

The Arm’s height can be set using this feature of the wheelchair. A Pin release arm allows for the easiest possible adjustment of the T-arm. There are standard height options to choose from. The arm can be set according to the end user’s body height.

ADJUSTABLE CASTERS

Adjustable caster forks stem angle. This ensures the caster stems are always perpendicular to the floor. Different types of caster height-to-floor options are available. You can select the height according to your individual requirements

Cognitive Abilities

For safe independent use, users must understand cause + effect (action = result). Independent use requires directional understanding (i.e. moving the wheels in one direction results in matching chair movement), problem solving (i.e. combine + time movements to get from A to B), and judgment (ability to learn that if something is unsafe they should not do it).

Functional Abilities

Users must have sufficient vision, trunk control and enough upper extremity grip, strength and stamina to steer and/or propel the chair. For foot propulsion, users must also have functional use of at least one lower extremity. Their adjustable foot and armrests and seat position make them appropriate for users requiring minimal positioning. This chair may not be appropriate for those with visual deficits, uncontrolled seizures, bilateral upper extremity weakness and those with poor trunk control.

Environment

Standard wheelchairs can be used both indoors and outdoors. They perform best on firm, flat surfaces such as pavement, groomed footpaths, cycle paths and in and around home. While it can be used outdoors, they not intended to be used on rough terrain, slopes, loose gravel, or sand. Their relatively small turn radius makes them appropriate for indoor use where space is limited.

Activities

Their maneuverability and small turn radius make standard wheelchairs ideal for use in tight spaces (stores, elevators, public washrooms, public transit etc.). While they can be used outdoors, they are best for activities done on flat level surfaces like urban sightseeing or sidewalk commuting.
Warnings

Please speak with your healthcare provider and schedule an in-person consultation before purchasing this product, to evaluate whether it is truly the best option for you.
