When you set it on the 12H hour mode it will say AM or PM. The 24H hour mode is military time. Batteries included. Replacement batteries-2 pieces-L1154,LR44,A76 or AG13 To activate the Clock-Please PRESS DOWN on the Talking Button FOR 3 SECONDS to turn on the unit. To put back into power-saving Mode.
